Description
- responsible to install and set up Linux/Windows systems and servers and all related applications
- evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, operating system software and software applications
- work with team members to ensure that the system(s) works accordingly to company standards and answer questions
- maintaining the network with numerous workstation and servers and all the related equipment (patches, support, etc. )
- install configure and update and maintain the networks components, switches, routers, firewalls, optimize and maintain LAN / WAN networks
- provides technical support to customers and employees to ensure the highest uptime of the business
- write scripts (mostly Bash) to automate file transfers and other tasks
- Providing technical support for systems, network and VPN.
- Installation, configuration and administration of VMware Virtual Infrastructure, install and manage virtual machines
- Administer Active Directory (group policy, user accounts, groups, and access permissions).
- support duties may include and not limited to:
- telephone calls and meetings with the custodians to setup business-related tasks (file transfers, security assessments, etc.)
- provide support to the data/feed team in regards to all the file transport issues
- perform daily manual tasks to integrate/accommodate certain projects
- writing documentation, creating spreadsheets (including maintaining records and traces of all the changed for compliance reasons)
- monitor all the systems for errors, disk space, failures
- monitor the logging system
- maintain the overall security based on SOC2 standards
- conduct tests and perform security and quality controls
- control and monitor e-mail use, Web navigation, and installed software
- ensure the integrity of data storage and backup systems – test, maintain, adjust, monitor for disk space issues, etc
TECHNICALS
- In depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, etc.
- Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts
- Installation, configuration and administration of VMware Virtual Infrastructure, install and manage virtual machines ; experience with Linux/Windows servers in virtualized environments
- Familiar with Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting
- Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
- Familiarity with firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, etc.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as SAP Sybase, Apache, Postfix, nginx, etc.
- Design and maintain tools for all scripts and automation processes
- Install configure and update the networks components, switches, routers, firewalls, optimize and maintain LAN / WAN networks
- Diagnose and resolve hardware problems with Dell , HP servers, workstations, and other hardware equipment
- Provide support to all business requirements and perform regular troubleshoot on system to resolve all issues.
- Perform troubleshoot on all tools and servers and provide back up for all files and script management servers.
- Integrate all required software and resolve all issues across various technologies
- Maintain all system backup and assist to restore all procedures
- Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware
- Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
- Provide installation, administration and support of workstations and servers running Windows OS, manage user accounts and security policies – using Active Directory
- Perform traffic monitoring/analysis of the live system and network (performance, statistics, security)
- Providing technical support for systems, network and VPN.
